"Blue Ice Project" is a side project collaboration with my dad, Eric Gatten (on bass), recorded during COVID. It's more straightforward than other stuff I've been doing, and a way to re-examine the music that I grew up playing, mainly electric blues and rock 'n roll. Two of the songs were originally featured on my debut album from 2002 that is now out of print. We rearranged and re-recorded them for this project along with some other brand new originals that were born out of jamming together. Overall, a way to have fun and warm up for recording the new album Contact Imminent, releasing fall 2021.
